17th International Special Medical Exhibition “Health Service & Pharmacy Expo” was held on October 26-28 in the capital of Armenia – Yerevan (exhibition center Yerevan Expo); this exhibition was visited by CEO of the JSC “Universal Pravo” Alexandra Igorevna Portnaya with the experts.
13 countries participated in the exhibition: Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Iran, Japan, China, Germany and others. Wide specialization of the exhibition included the following topics: preventive and clinical medicine, diagnosis and rehabilitation, medical equipment, and the most presented were manufacturers of medical devices for dental and orthodontic purposes.
Because the specificity of circulation of medical devices in Armenia does not suppose their registration for legal use, many manufacturers and customers have no information about future significant changes is this area, designated for updating and harmonization of the local legislation.
During the meetings with participants of the exhibition, A.I. Portnaya and the experts of JSC “Universal Pravo” clarified to the colleagues, that the outcome of official joining of Armenia into Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU, members of which are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) from January 2nd, 2015, is the regulation of circulation of medical devices within EAEU.
Registration of medical devices within EAEU is performed according to the Rules of registration and expertise of safety, quality and efficiency of medical devices, approved by the decision of EAEU Board of 12.02.2016 № 46, which takes full effect after December 31, 2021.
It is difficult to sort out all the nuances of actual legislation on their own even for experienced specialists, but even now for circulation of medical devices on the territory of Russian Federation (and in future – on the territory of EAEU) there is registration available for the manufacturers of medical devices, performed by the experts of JSC “Universal Pravo” according to all actual requirements, including EAEU Rules.
